Summary
The purpose of this position is to perform painting tasks to implement facility maintenance policies and procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents’ needs and to provide a functional, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment, in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum three years painting work experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Knowledge of practices, tools, equipment and
techniques associated with the painting trade
- Knowledge of safety standards/precautions pertaining
to painting
- Ability to read and follow SDS recommendations and
requirements
- Requires ample strength and agility to climb ladders,
stoop over and bend and to lift materials to successfully complete work
assignments.
- Implement maintenance painting systems to meet
residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
- Assure that the interior and exterior of the buildings
are maintained in good repair and free from hazards.
Job Duties:
- Estimate materials and time required to complete
various painting tasks
- Paint buildings and structures, interior and exterior,
equipment, signs and furniture
- Paint, stain and varnish using brushes and rollers
- Clean, sand, sandblast, scrape, brush and burn
surfaces in preparation for painting
- Repair surfaces to be painted including plastering and
sheetrock finishing
- Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and
various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; move furniture and
equipment as necessary
- Implement painting maintenance schedules for all areas
of the facility
- Requisition materials and supplies per department
procedures
- Waterproof surfaces
- Clean and store tools and equipment, clean work sites
Physical demands and
working conditions:
- Essential functions of the job routinely require ample
strength and agility to clime ladders, stoop over and bend and to lift
materials to successfully complete work assignments. A maintenance
technician must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Talking and listening are essential in dealing with
other personnel and residents.
- Work is indoors and outdoors.
- Must be independent to commute between properties as
well as available when needed.
Shifts/Hours/Schedules:
- Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
- Seeking 1 person for this position.
- Expected hiring date is as soon as possible.
