Position Summary
The Workforce Specialist assists in the capacity building of workforce development programming, with a focus on technology and manufacturing related fields.
Essential Job Functions:
Workforce Training
- Enroll participants in training opportunities, including Grow with Google certificates and virtual reality training.
- Research new training opportunities for people to attend.
- Track participant progress in training programs.
- Process stipends for course completion, when applicable.
- Provide soft and hard skill training the participants.
- Develop cohort model for training program, so participants can learn together.
Job Experiences
- Build partnerships with local technology related organizations in fields such as IT, internet, solar, digital marketing, and videography.
- Build partnerships with local manufacturing related organizations in fields related to food, textiles, fabric, production, industrial, and agriculture.
- Create MOUs for new partners.
- Develop job descriptions for internship opportunities.
- Recruit participants for workforce job training opportunities, including assisting with interviews and hiring documentation.
- Assist in providing training and mentorship for workforce development participants.
- Support other workforce opportunities, including youth programming, as needed.
Portfolio Development
- Develop a program for people who complete training or an internship to develop a portfolio.
- Develop job descriptions for portfolio development program.
- Provide portfolio development opportunities to people who have completed a program to further develop their skills.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to interns.
- Help participants complete resumes and prepare for additional employment.
Program Management
- Assist in fundraising to strengthen internal technology practices and provide workforce development.
- Follow up with participants after they have completed training or internships to determine if they need additional support.
- Send a follow up survey to participants three months after completion.
- Track participant long-term employment, after they complete a program.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $49,920.00 - $58,240.00 per year
