JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree or higher specializing in the mechanical, electrical, or engineering field
- Experience in Facilities and Operations is preferred
- Training and/or experience which evidences knowledge of the operations of school buildings, facilities & grounds, food service, vehicles, and power equipment
- Organizational skills and ability to maintain a computerized inventory control system
- Strong, positive interpersonal and public relation skills
- Must have or obtain BOC (Building Operator’s Certificate)
- Must possess valid Ohio driver’s license
- Must pass criminal background check
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises and directs the training and orientation of new employees in methods and procedures to insure efficient accomplishment of their job duties
- Interviews, recommends for hire, assigns and supervises work of all service operations departments.
- Evaluates the performance of assigned personnel
- Formulates planning and work schedules for all supervised employees
- Cooperates with all regulatory agencies and initiates all required reports pertaining to school facilities, cafeteria operations, and motor vehicles. Maintains district compliance with all state inspections & mandated policies and procedures
- Accountable for assuring that specifications, codes and regulations are being observed and followed
- Evaluates the district’s security program on a continuing basis and advises the Superintendent on all security matters
- Establishes a routine periodic inspection of all facilities to determine that high standards of workmanship, cleanliness, safety and security are maintained
- Assumes responsibility for the care, condition, and appearance of the facilities, grounds and equipment
- Oversees the district warehouse for the shipping, receiving and delivery of all purchased ordered materials
- Responsible for taking physical inventory on consumable products semiannually
- Coordinates with the Treasurer preparing the budget for maintenance, grounds, cafeteria, security and custodial supplies and equipment
- Recommends the purchase and arranges for repair of all custodial, maintenance, and cafeteria equipment, purchases and distribution of supplies
- Assists in the promotion of good safety procedures
- Supervises and inspect the improvement and renovation work performed by outside contractors, and verifies that the terms of all such contract have been fulfilled before authorizing final payment
- Responsible for snow and ice removal
- Prepares for pick-up and deliveries using district owned vehicles
- Serves as a member of the district leadership team
- On call for emergency and security purposes
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual
- Maintains up to date knowledge of technology utilized by the district
- Responsible for Managing Transportation Services
- Responsible for Managing Food Service Operations including inspections, licenses, audits, and verifications
- Writes RFP’s for contract services under Facilities
- Responsible for security, safety, emergency operations, and submitting all required documentation for drills and exercises
- Performs these and all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Designee
- Workdays stipulated as per calendar, 257 days; salary as per salary schedule in effect as adopted by the Board of Education.
