Job Title: Grant Writer
Department: Finance and Administration
Reports to: Director of Finance and Administration
Salary: $43,680
Status: Full-time (35 hours per week) with benefits, Exempt, Non-Union
Qualifications: Excellent writing, analytical and research skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated, detail oriented, highly organized, and have experience using online databases and other sources to locate biographical, financial, and philanthropic information.
A high level of computer literacy is required. Candidates must possess an ability to work well under pressure, seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form. Solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all agencies and departments. Ability to identify diverse funding opportunities, multi-task and manage projects in a timely manner and understand functions of various County departments.
Experience: Associates degree and or 2-3 years of relevant experience preferred.Thorough knowledge and command of standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation and ability to assimilate information from various sources and prepare clear, persuasive communication for oral and written presentation to diverse groups. Knowledge of accounting, available funding sources in the federal, state, and private sector.
Responsibilities: Identifies, monitors, and shares federal, state, and private discretionary grant opportunities. Develop and implement policy pertaining to grant creation, structure, and management. Assists County staff to complete letters of intent and grant proposals submissions. Submits monthly and annual reports and maintains mandatory registration for federal funds. Attends grant application webinars, meetings, or training. Understand the ability to fund match dollars through other allowable funding sources. Maintains confidentiality regarding all matters of payroll and confidential data. Job duties as assigned.
