WARREN GENERAL HOSPITAL IS ADDING A PHARMACY TECHNICIAN TO OUR TEAM!
Full-time, day-shift schedule with rotating weekends.
JOB DUTIES:
Meditech Pharmacy Operations
a) Creates refill lists for intravenous medications using the Meditech Pharmacy Module
b) Utilize barcode technology through Meditech when receiving orders
c) Create and receive medication orders from outside vendors
d) Complies with all applicable policies/procedures established for Meditech
Omnicell Dispensing Cabinets
a) Creates refill lists and replenish Omnicell cabinets
b) Manages Omnicell inventories through expiration tracking and stock rotation
a) Complies with all applicable policies/procedures established for Omnicell
Intravenous Admixture Services
a) Reconstitutes/prepares parenteral medications, including chemotherapy, for IV/IM/SC administration under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
b) Follow all USP 797 and 800 regulations
Pharmacy Operations
a) Reconstitutes oral medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
b) Pre-packs medications for unit dose dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
c) Assists with the distribution of Pharmacy floor stock items to designated areas
d) Charges Pharmacy stock drugs to individual patient accounts and departments
e) Inspects/maintains nursing unit floor stock medications
f) Participates in departmental meetings/planning decisions
g) Assists with training/educating orienting Pharmacy Technicians on Pharmacy operations
h) Complies with applicable procedures as assigned by the Pharmacy Supervisor and/or the Director of Pharmacy Services
REQUIREMENTS:
- General knowledge of institutional healthcare policies/procedures
- Demonstration of general competency with computerized systems
- Current, or willingness to obtain, Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- Previous pharmacy experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.85 - $21.26 per hour
