- Promote, recruit, and manage all aspects of the special education program.
- Provide management of instruction for special education program.
- Promotes instructional programming consistent with instructional objectives.
- Participates as a member of the staffing team during educational evaluations.
- Promotes ongoing staff development.
- Administers cognitive, achievement, and adaptive behavior measures as needed.
- Communicates standards of expected performance to students, teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and the community.
- Provides leadership for curriculum development and the selection of materials.
- Provides for effective day by day operation of the special education program.
- Assist in maintaining pupil personnel records.
- Promotes school plan and facilities that are conducive to positive learning environment.
- Assists in maintaining expected performance of students, teachers, and paraprofessionals.
- Participates in special education initiatives.
- Promotes and maintains a positive school climate by implementing Warrensburg R-VI School Discipline policy.
- Demonstrates effective problem solving and decision making skills.
- Demonstrates effective organizational skills.
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and parents/community.
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with other administrators.
- Implements the policies and procedures of the district (reports to the Director of Special Programs and the Superintendent of Schools any deviation from adopted procedures, reports to the Director of Special Programs in writing accidents that appear serious in nature or require medical attention).
- Participates in professional growth activities.
- Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility.
- Conducts self at all times as a representative of the school and assists the superintendent in establishing and maintaining a good relationship with the community.

Qualifications:
Certification in at least one area of special education or related area and knowledge of special education process requirements.
Preferred Experience:
Master’s Degree in Special Education and/or Special Educator or School Administration.
Five years of classroom teaching in special education. Experience in evaluation, diagnosis, and special education programming.
Primary Responsibilities:
To provide a quality instructional program by managing the operation of the school program, personnel, and facilities for the benefit of the students.
