JOB SUMMARY AND SCOPE:
The IT Generalist works with technical and non-technical resources within the organization and liaises with external managed service providers and consultants to facilitate a secure and efficient technology experience for office, sales, and distribution center users.
IT areas of focus include Microsoft 365, ERP (NetSuite) and integrated solutions, Inventory Management (RF-SMART), EDI (TrueCommerce), Shipping and Logistics (ShipJunction), Digital Asset Management (Widen), Product Information Management (Salsify), B2B & B2C eCommerce (BigCommerce), and Business Intelligence and Reporting.
The IT Generalist coordinates project activities, monitors system and process health, and is the point of escalation and owner for daily IT issues. The IT Generalist must have excellent written and verbal communications, be well organized, outcome driven, detail oriented, collaborative, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
- Administration and support of software systems, including NetSuite, RFSmart, ShipJunction, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
- Independently analyze issues, define options/alternatives, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Document, prioritize, assign, and follow up on issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure security & change management measures are defined and functioning as expected.
- Onboard and Offboard employees.
- Train employees regarding technology standards, processes, systems, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain the IT knowledgebase.
- Engage customers & coworkers in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Occasional travel to and from Distribution Center for collaboration and training.
Minimum Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in Information Technology.
- Ability to coordinate with a cross-functional team including employees, management, and vendors.
- Experience demonstrating significant attention to detail, above-average accuracy, independent problem solving, and task management, with minimal supervision.
- Professional communication skills (written & verbal) to include knowledge articles, process documentation, and project or problem status updates.
- Must be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users and stakeholders
- Experience with one or more of the following: Microsoft Office, Enterprise Resource Planning systems (e.g. NetSuite), Warehouse Management Systems (e.g. RFSmart and ShipJunction), and Project/Task Planning tools (e.g. Workfront or Jira).
