The Field Production Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily oil and gas production operations, ensuring safe and efficient field activities, and optimizing production performance in the Eagle Ford Basin. This role involves managing field personnel, coordinating with engineering and operations teams, and implementing best practices to maximize production while maintaining compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations & Optimization
- Supervise daily oil and gas production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
- Monitor well performance, artificial lift systems, and facility operations, making data-driven decisions to optimize production.
- Work closely with engineering, facilities, completions, and drilling teams to maximize well productivity and minimize downtime.
- Oversee and troubleshoot issues related to production equipment, flowlines, tank batteries, and compression systems.
Team Leadership & Field Management
- Lead and mentor field production personnel, including Foreman, Lease operators, and Technicians.
- Adhere & champion safety protocols, environmental standards, and regulatory compliance (Texas RRC, EPA, OSHA).
- Conduct regular field inspections, safety meetings, and performance evaluations for team members.
- Coordinate with midstream and third-party service providers for logistics, maintenance, and repairs.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations governing oil and gas production.
- Maintain accurate production records, downtime reports, and incident logs.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to management and regulatory agencies.
- Support audit processes and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Operational Efficiency & Cost Control
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining production targets.
- Work with procurement teams to manage inventory, spare parts, and vendor relationships.
- Oversee workover and maintenance programs, ensuring timely execution of repairs and well interventions.
- Monitor lease operating expenses (LOE) and provide recommendations for cost control and operational improvements.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 15 years in oil and gas field operations, with at least 10 years in a supervisory role.
- Basin Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Eagle Ford Basin, High pressure gas & Dead oil production operations.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SCADA systems, artificial lift optimization, and production reporting software.
- Leadership Abilities: Proven experience in leading field teams, training personnel, and implementing safety programs.
- Safety & Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of HSE best practices, regulatory compliance, and incident response.
- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to troubleshoot field equipment failures, production issues, and operational inefficiencies.
- Residence: located within 45 miles of Field office in Poth, TX.
- Valid Driver’s License: Required for travel within the field.
