OVERVIEW
The Bookkeeping position is responsible for recording and overseeing the daily financial transactions of the Warwick Valley Country Club (“WVCC”). We are seeking a well-organized, detailed oriented and knowledgeable candidate with excellent communication skills. The Bookkeeper works closely with Club management to ensure the accuracy of our financials. The Warwick Valley Country Club is a 9-hole course and was originally laid out in 1900 and the club was established in 1958. We are seeking a year-round part-time bookkeeper, 3-4 days a week, (20hrs). The position is onsite and requires some weekends, flexible schedule. There are some additional duties which include assisting the Club Manager with the day-to-day tasks of the club as well as assisting with events.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Accounts Payable
· Accounts Receivable
· Membership Invoicing and Billing
· Maintaining the General Ledger
· Bank Reconciliations
· Customized Reports
· Vendor Payments
· Sales Tax Payable
· Filing Quarterly Taxes
· Provide accurate and timely monthly financial reporting including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
· Manage year-end 1099 preparation for vendors
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)
· 5 Years experience in Bookkeeping or Accounting
· Strong Organizational & Analytical Skills, Detail Oriented
· Four-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred
· Experience in working with Country Club software programs preferred
· Country Club experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
· Excellent proficiency with Microsoft tools, particularly Excel
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Willingness to work in a dynamic, deadline driven, service-oriented environment.
· Ability to work independently and willingness to ask for assistance of superiors when needed.
· Possesses the ability to understand instructions on company policies and to implement desired actions independently.
· Has the ability to deal with constantly shifting priorities
· Has the ability to keep confidential member information and financial data
