Your day as a Human Service Worker
As a Human Service Worker you will work at our client residential living facility to provide day-to-day supervision to clients; instructs and educates new clients to facility rules and guidelines; assists and advises in decision making processes, coaches in daily routines and promotes socialization and interaction; participates in the development and social adjustment of clients/residents and/or consumers through interactive processes and role modeling; assists with implementation of behavioral modification treatment programs and plans. May assist in apartment cleaning, shopping, cooking, hygiene, socialization or other activities of daily living goals. May conduct periodic cleaning checks.
Performs nightly checks; provides direction and supervision in the completion of chores; manages crisis situations; performs client related adjunctive services, i.e., sanitation and hygiene. Assists professional staff in the transportation of client to various locations to receive special professional care; assures safety of clients and follows established control procedures to prevent or minimize crisis situations; assists with crisis intervention.
Monitor patient behaviors and reaction to medications as needed to avoid adverse side affects; receives medical instruction from nursing staff; assists clients by watching them take medications per medical staff instructions.
Participates in staff and peer review meetings and shift change meetings; assists to monitor diagnosis, goals and progress notes related to individual clients; assists with document reviews to assure compliance with record keeping requirements, policies, and outside audit regulations; may assist to establish levels of structure for individual clients within the facility; conducts periodic "cleaning check" of residential areas.

Some knowledge of normal and abnormal psychology; evaluation and various forms of counseling; client counseling processes, techniques, and methods; basic teaching techniques; the legal environment associated with assisted living operations and liabilities.
Ability to perform under adverse crisis situations; communicate verbally and in writing; develop and maintain effective working relationships with executives, professionals, administrators, and the public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- One (1) year of completed course work and current enrollment in a college or university bachelors degree program related to social work, psychology or a related field;
- OR
- One (1) year of experience performing above or related duties
- OR
- C. An equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a valid Drivers License.

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
