Laundry Technician

A laundromat technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of commercial laundry equipment like washers and dryers in a laundromat, including performing preventative maintenance checks, diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical issues, ordering replacement parts, and ensuring the machines operate safely and efficiently; essentially acting as the primary troubleshooter for any equipment malfunctions within the laundromat. Key responsibilities of a laundromat technician:

• Preventative maintenance: Regularly inspect and service laundry equipment according to manufacturer guidelines, including lubrication, cleaning, and belt adjustments.
• Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment, and perform necessary repairs including replacing parts.
• Parts management: Maintain inventory of replacement parts and order new parts as needed.
• Safety compliance: Ensure all equipment is operating within safety standards and address any potential hazards.
• Recordkeeping: Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used on each machine.
• Customer service: Respond to customer inquiries regarding machine operation and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge: May be required to perform minor plumbing or electrical work related to laundry equipment.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical principles and how to work with various tools
• Electrical knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical circuits and wiring diagrams
