Position Summary

Washburn University’s Allied Health Department invites applications for the position of Assistant / Associate Professor Program Director Medical Dosimetry with a start date of February 1, 5 or as soon as possible thereafter. This position is a -month full-time, tenure track faculty appointment.

The Allied Health Department offers nationally accredited programs and offerings at multiple levels including certificates, associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees.

Essential Functions :

  • Fulfill expectations associated with tenure-track appointment for teaching, service and scholarship.
  • Teach -credit hours per semester (either in-person or online, according to departmental needs) or equivalent full workload as outlined in the faculty handbook.
  • Teach and develop didactic and / or clinical Allied Health Department courses, as appropriate, in assigned modalities (e.g., face-to-face, online, hybrid, Zoom, etc.)
  • Advise students, maintain office hours in accordance with SAS and university policy, attend meetings, and engage in service activities in the Allied Health Department, the School of Applied Studies, the university, the profession, and the community.
  • Assure effective program operations and oversee ongoing program accreditation and assessment processes.
  • Participate in budget planning.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
  • Assume the leadership role in the continued development of the program.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications :

  • Relevant master’s degree plus post- master credit hours from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
  • Must meet the minimum requirements for appointment as an assistant professor in the School of Applied Studies by June 1, 5.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist.
  • Minimum of three years of post-secondary teaching experience with a minimum of two years in a JRCERT-accredited program by June 1, 5.
  • Experience in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program planning, and academic advising.
  • Demonstrated dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage students from all backgrounds.
  • Official educational transcripts are required at time of hire.

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • A relevant doctorate degree from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
  • Experience in program administration and assessment.
  • Experience teaching online courses.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
