Position Summary
Washburn University's Department of Psychology invites applications for an assistant professor position to begin August 5. This is a full-time 9-month, tenure track position. A completed doctorate is necessary for tenure-track appointment.

The Psychology department is a collegial and collaborative one and consists of faculty from various areas in psychology. All faculty teach and advise our undergraduate and graduate students. Clinical faculty also supervise therapist trainees in the department’s Psychological Services Clinic. Washburn provides support for faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students to present collaborative research at regional and / or national conferences each year.

Essential Functions :
- Fulfill teaching expectations associated with tenure-track appointment. Teach -hours per semester (in-person and online, according to departmental needs) or equivalent full workload as outlined in the faculty handbook.
- Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate classes and seminars as assigned and as dependent upon department needs, which may include Adult Assessment, Adult Assessment Practicum, Adult Treatment, Adult Treatment Practicum, Introductory Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Personality, Ethics as assigned by the Department Chairperson.
- Supervise undergraduate and master’s student research.
- Have an active research program that can involve students.
- Advise students and engage in service activities in the department and to the university, the profession, and / or the community.
- Become licensed before tenure and maintain licensure thereafter.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
