What are the responsibilities and job description for the Encumbrance Clerk (July 2025) position at Washington Administrative Center?
This position is primarily responsible for processing purchase orders and subsequent payments for the General Fund, Building Fund, Child Nutrition Fund and Bond Funds in accordance with state law and school district policy. Successful candidates will have excellent customer service and communication skills as they are expected to work in conjunction with all sites and all employees in an effective and polite manner. In addition, a willingness and ability to change processes as new technology becomes available. Encumbrance Clerks in Oklahoma are required to complete continuing education credits as required by OSDE.
Education: High School Diploma required; College Degree preferred
Experience: Recent work history in an accounting environment and school district setting preferred. Knowledge of Municipal Accounting Software is also preferred
