What are the responsibilities and job description for the Music Teacher - 1.00 FTE position at Washington Central Unified Union School District?
Washington Central Unified Union School District ("WCUUSD") is looking for a dynamic and child centered music instructor to teach general music, instrumental and chorus. The candidate will be responsible for teaching music education to pupils in grades Pre-K to 6th and assists staff in improving an appreciation of music instruction. This teacher helps pupils grow in their enjoyment, appreciation ad performance of music through a variety of planned music experience which includes singing, playing of instruments and listening, and performs other duties related to this job description. This 1.00 FTE position will serve East Montpelier Elementary and Rumney Memorial School.
The successful candidate must: Teach skills in music understanding, harmony, explorations in music and choral music to elementary studentsExecutes a balanced music program and organizes class time so that preparation, rehearsal, and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time. Provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the music curriculum to the needs of each student. Encourages students to develop individual musical skills to the greatest extent possible. Selects appropriate music and instructional aides to enhance learning and requisitions musical instruments and instructional supplies as necessary.
Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned music, musical instruments and equipment to prevent loss or abuse. Makes minor adjustments and requests repairs to instruments as needed. Evaluates each pupils musical growth, performance, and musical understanding. Assesses each individuals contributions to the performance of the group.
Cooperation with Building Principals and staff in providing musical programs for school assemblies, open house, parent meetings, and seasonal programs. Communicates with parents and school staff on individual students progress.
