Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant/HR Specialist to support our team in various clerical, administrative tasks, and HR tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. This role is essential in ensuring smooth office operations and providing exceptional customer service to employees and the public.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform general clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and document management
Assist in proofreading documents to ensure accuracy and professionalism
Support office management tasks, including scheduling appointments and coordinating travel arrangements
Provide customer support by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
To be the frontline contact with the public and to forward both live and email requests for information to the proper person or department. Disseminate both incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
Have a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Will help support HR functions by assisting with employee on boarding. Employee records maintenance, compliance, benefits administration, and departing employee’s documentation and exit interviews
Assist with maintaining company-wide records for compliance with state and federal regulation
Assist with HR policy implementation and compliance with labor laws and company policies, unemployment actions, and worker’s compensation
Maintains and keeps up to date records for DOT compliance
Promote a positive and inclusive work environment through effective communication and problem-solving
Support special projects as needed, such as compensation analysis, audits, and other projects as directed by the County Administrator
Some work outside of normal business hours will be required
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
HR Certification or 2 or more years of HR experience
Strong Knowledge in Human Resource fields
High level of accuracy and attention to detail is a must
Manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism
Problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
Experience with Word, Excel, and Google
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
Other qualifications as determined by the County Administrator
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The following are some of the physical demands associated with this position.
Sitting 75% to 80% of the time; stands or walks 20% to 25% of the time. Uses full scope of visual capacity in order to operate office equipment. Constantly involved in oral and auditory communication either in person or through telephone.
Constant use of wrist, eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling performance of office duties and operation of office equipment.

Pay: $43,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
