Job Summary
Performs a variety of administrative, technical, and professional work in preparation and implementation of economic and community development plans, programs, and services. Takes the lead role in promoting Washington County as an ideal business and industry location with site consultants, investors, business owners, etc.
Develops for WCEDC approval and oversees the implementation of a Strategic Plan encompassing but not limited to the following:
- Workforce Development
-Business Retention and Expansion
-Enhance Economic Development Capacity
-Support Entrepreneurship Development
-Specific projects or events may require work on weekends, and nights, and travel will be required.
Duties
- Lead the development and execution of long-term strategic plans to achieve organizational goals.
- Negotiate contracts and partnerships that align with the organization's mission.
- Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and service delivery.
- Foster a collaborative environment by managing senior leadership teams and encouraging professional growth.
- Drive business development efforts to expand organizational reach and impact.
- Manage project management processes to ensure timely completion of initiatives within budget.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and conferences to promote its mission.
Experience
- Proven experience in senior leadership roles, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
- Background in strategic planning, operations management, and business development.
- Experience in negotiating contracts and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successful initiative implementation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate organizations towards common goals.
- Ability to proficiently use standard office equipment and software.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve outcomes that improve the county's economic health.
