The Washington County - District Clerk's Office is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented applicants for the position of Deputy Clerk for the Brenham, Texas office. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task by answering phones, greeting visitors, filing, data entry, and other miscellaneous duties.
- Assist the public, attorneys, and court personnel with inquiries regarding court cases, filings, records, or other public service assistance.
- Cash handling and balancing of all fees collected daily with the use of basic mathematical and accounting principles.
- Process and maintain court recordings, filings, and legal documents in compliance with state and local requirements.
- Prepare and issue court notices, subpoenas, or other legal documents.
- Provide support to courtroom proceedings.
- Ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive legal documents.
- Legal Experience (PREFERRED)
The Deputy Clerk for the District Clerk's Office is a Washington County employee and would receive salary and other benefits.
Employment is contingent on passing post-offer, pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and/or periodic drug, criminal background investigations, and motor vehicle record reports as appropriate under policy.
