Class Summary:
Under general direction, incumbent(s) works in partnership with the Special Services Department staff and Special Education Teachers to ensure Individualized Education Program (IEP) Compliance with state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties:
- Assist in the management of the timeline and paper work compliance process and be a supportive partner in the completion of required paper work and accurate reporting of IEP and evaluation documentation to the District.
- Be responsible for onboarding new special education teachers with regard to the writing of IEPs.
- Conduct regular IEP audits to ensure compliance with federal and state law, Medicaid requirements, and District special education policies and procedures.
- Serve as a support and direct point of contact for teachers with questions regarding IEP compliance.
- Generate and provide monthly reports to the Special Services Director including but not limited to a reconciliation report between the District student information system and IEP program to identify areas needing support.
- Ensure IEPs meet all legal requirements and are implemented correctly.
- Provide guidance to Special Services staff in areas of IEP Compliance.
- Conduct training for staff on IEP compliance and best practices.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. In addition, verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or related field
- Three years of teaching experience
- Valid Arizona Department of Education Teaching certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
- Masters’ degree in Special Education, Education, or related field
