Job Summary:
Washington Fruit is seeking a hardworking, team-oriented logistics professional to assist the logistics manager. This is an hourly position, accompanied by paid vacation, 401(k) and health insurance opportunities. This position will work in a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Load tendering/tracking
· Work with the Logistics manager to secure transportation for delivered loads as requested by WA Fruit sales. Participate in freight rate negotiations.
· Follow up with carriers to advise sales of planned shipping date if different from rate confirmation. Inform logistics manager/sales of potential service failure.
· Track load progress daily informing logistics manager and sales if there is a potential service failure or if carriers might be able to deliver early.
· Report carrier performance monthly to logistics manager.
Freight Claims
· Provide all information to carriers to facilitate claim processing.
· Track claim progress weekly providing updates to logistics manager/sales/AR on all freight claims.
Carrier Qualification
· Keep carrier records up to date reviewing insurance certs and authority quarterly.
Freight payables
· Print, sort, code and date freight invoices for payment. Remove any excess/duplicate paperwork received from carriers.
· Process freight invoices for payment weekly. Make adjustments as necessary as prescribed by the logistics manager and/or sales. Keep AP payments within carrier payment terms. Respond to carrier aging inquiries providing payment information.
· Keep freight AP files as clean as possible.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
