Job Description Strongly supports the Manager of Materials Management for the development and implementation of the materials (short/long) strategy and budget for the utilities. Strongly supports the Manager of Materials Management for the creation and implementation of a multi-year category plans for the utilities that will meet the Supply Chain department’s service level goals and support corporate profit and return on equity goals. Develops and implements demand planning and materials forecasts, drives material standardization, and evaluates and addresses Excess and Obsolete (E&O) materials. Becomes the corporate expert for assigned categories, and knows the market drivers, supplier base, emerging technologies, regulatory factors, category spend by supplier, and key performance metrics. Responsible for the operational aspects of the materials management for the utilities including but not limited to the attainment of Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), Statement of Work (SOW), stock material pricing, spot buy pricing, and variable management and invoicing. Adheres to the department’s budget, savings targets and continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes. Maintains adequate levels of inventory and leverages demand amongst utilities to further enhance inventory levels and turns and focus efforts on alignment across the various Utilities to achieve improved economic, commercial, and technical benefits to the organization. Leads and participates in RFx, pricing analysis, negotiation strategies based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), contract agreements, amendments, and addenda as well as market trends, best practices, industry bench marking and peer reviews. Creates, consolidates, and complies with related policies, procedures, SOPs, operational and SOX controls and accountable for all audit related activities across the organization. Tracks internal KPIs, savings targets and customer’s satisfaction goals and develops recommendations and action plans accordingly. Establishes/develops/maintains professional relationships with suppliers/business units based on the highest ethical business practices with a focus on customer service and value creation and leads formal Supplier Performance Management (SPM) practices with identified key suppliers, including quarterly performance review. Applies project management methodology and practices to manage a structured sourcing experience with focus on quality to support efficient business processes. Education and Experience: 5 years of experience and expertise in inventory management with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership position Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or related fields required. Masters or MBA degrees considered an asset. Supply Chain or Project Management related certifications (e.g., CPSM, Six Sigma, PMP) are considered an asset.
