Position Summary
The role of the Cath Lab Attendant reports to the Cardiovascular Services Manager. This position is responsible maintaining environmental sanitation within the Cardiovascular Services area, assisting with patient transport, and maintaining inventory for the department.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Assist department and clinical staff with retrieving supplies, specimens, and medications, as needed
- Assist the clinical staff within the Cath Lab and EP lab by positioning patients, as needed
- Ensure department inventory is ordered and stock supplies
- Transport patients to various areas of the medical center
- Transport and store non-controlled medications
- Communicate with coworkers, patient, patient families, and other staff in an effective and friendly manner
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Licensure and Certifications: BLS, required.
- Experience: Previous experience with patient care such as nursing assistant, preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position has exposure to radiation, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases. This position will serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population.
