RN, Staff Development Coordinator
Washington Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking an experienced RN, Staff Development Coordinator to join our team.
FLSA: Exempt
Shift 8:00 am- 4:30 pm
Job Description:
- The primary function of the Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs for all staff, ensuring they maintain competency in providing quality care to residents and identify individual training needs and addressing them through targeted educational initiatives; essentially acting as the primary educator for the nursing home staff.
- The SDC evaluates the educational needs to ensure on-going continuing education and adherence to the applicable required in-service education for all staff. Identifies, assesses, and implements in-service programs as needed regarding the satisfactory performance of clinical skills and knowledge through observation, skills checks, and competency tests.

Assist Human Resources with the New Hire On-Boarding Program.
- Work Closely with the Administrator, Human Resources and Director of Nursing in assessing educational needs and planning programs to meet the needs and regulatory requirements
- Conducts competency skills review on new hire and annually for all nursing personnel.
- Document staff training completion, competency assessments and any corrective actions taken.
Qualifications for a Staff Development Coordinator:
- Associate degree or above in Nursing (ASN) required.
- Clear and active Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in the state of practice required.
- Two (2 ) years’ nursing experience required.
- Long-Term Care or SNF Nursing experience OR Clinical Education and Staff Development experience strongly preferred.
Experience:
- Nurse management: 1 year (Preferred)
- Point-Click Care: 1 year (Preferred)
- Nursing facility: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Required)
- RN License (Required)
