What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fan Growth & Community Assistant (Part-Time, Seasonal) position at Washington Spirit?
The Washington Spirit is looking for upbeat, spirited individuals to be a Fan Growth & Community Assistant for 2025 season. Involving a variety of consumer engagements; including but not limited to, special events, watch parties, partner appearances, festivals, etc. Through active fan engagement, they help provide memorable experiences to Washington Spirit supporters across the DMV. They will support the department with operational tasks.
This position is part-time. The work schedule is set on an as-needed event/match basis. There are no guaranteed number of hours per week.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist the Fan Growth & Engagement Manager, with event tabling preparation efforts, such as: loading giveaways and signage, tracking inventory, submitting form requests and event paperwork.
- Lead event table set up and managing marketing tables at events and festivals.
- Engage with event attendees, distribute promotional materials, and represent the Spirit brand in a professional manner.
- Assist in tracking event performance and gathering attendee feedback.
- Assist in maintaining database of partner bars, restaurants and social clubs.
- Help streamline communication with external partners, vendors, and event organizers.
- Assist in drafting and sending emails, promotional content, and event reminders.
- Track and manage external communications to ensure timely follow-ups and responses.
- Assist Community Manager with operational tasks including donation request tracking and disbursement, maintaining event calendar and scheduling meetings and events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidates will reside locally.
- Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Required to travel frequently, within the DMV area with own vehicle transportation.
- Previous operations/marketing/promotional/event experience preferred.
- Available for most Washington Spirit home matches at Audi Field.
- Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to adverse conditions.
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in support of matches and events.
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to employment start date.
