What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mascot position at Washington Spirit?
The Washington Spirit is seeking a mascot performer for the 2024 season. The mascot performer will provide memorable experiences to Washington Spirit supporters across the DMV and at each home match. The Mascot Performer operates under the direction of the Fan Experience and Promotions Coordinator.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Represent the Washington Spirit at various events across the DMV area including (but not limited to) home matches at Audi Field, special events, watch parties, partner appearances, festivals, etc.
- Participate in pre-game, in-game and post game entertainment, including matchday memories and script features.
- Sign autographs and take photos with fans.
- Maintain an energetic and engaging personality with good interpersonal communication skills.
- Create new ways and ideas for in stadium entertainment, including fan interaction, skits etc
- Serve as brand ambassador for the Washington Spirit while properly representing the organization and PK in a professional manner at all times.
- Represent the organization as PK at third party events outside of the game schedule.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidates will reside locally.
- There is no guaranteed number of hours per week, scheduling is set on an as-needed event/match basis.
- Must be at least 18 years of age. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Required to travel frequently, within the DMV area with own vehicle transportation.
- Previous mascot experience preferred required.
- Ability to excite, engage and entertain a crowd.
- Available for Washington Spirit home matches at Audi Field.
- Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to adverse conditions.
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in support of matches and events.
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to employment start date.
