What are the responsibilities and job description for the Matchday Command Lead position at Washington Spirit?
The Washington Spirit Matchday Command Lead will represent the Washington Spirit in the command center during all home matches at Audi Field. Through active collaboration with Washington Spirit and D.C. United staff, they will help maintain incident control for Washington Spirit fans at each home match. The dispatcher will be tasked with monitoring incidents, aiding during emergency situations, and delivering excellent customer service to guests.The Matchday Command Lead will operate under the direction of the Operations Coordinator and the Director of Matchday Operations.

- Responsible for keeping extremely detailed notes, using 24/7 Software effectively, and properly utilizing a two-way radio.
- Opening, operating, and closing Audi Field’s command center on matchdays from a Washington Spirit Capacity.
- Inputting, tracking, and confirming the completion of every reported incident.
- Making critical decisions based on Washington Spirit and Audi Field policies.
- Maintaining precise organization and timing throughout the matchday.
- Collecting accurate data throughout the day for comprehensive post-match reports.
- Ability to adjust quickly to unforeseen circumstances.
- Comprehensive knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Ability to actively communicate information calmly, clearly, and concisely with staff members.
- Flagging incidents to upper management.
- Providing excellent general communication between guests.
- Answering fan questions about activity and service locations inside the venue.
- Ensuring a positive fan experience at events and matches through friendly interactions, proactive engagement, knowledge of match and venue procedures, professional appearance, and service.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidates will reside in the DMV.
- There is no guaranteed number of hours per week, scheduling is set on an as-needed event/match basis.
- Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in venue operations is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a command center or as a dispatcher is preferred.
- Previous experience with 24/7 Software or equivalent is a plus.
- Available for all of Washington Spirit home matches at Audi Field.
- Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to adverse conditions.
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in support of matches and events.
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to employment start date.
