These are full-time hybrid project positions that will be funded through June 30, 2026 .
Role
The Office of Financial Services are seeking to fill two Fiscal Analysts 4 positions to provide financial leadership and support essential public health operations. This role serves as the principal assistant to Fiscal Analyst 5, Accounting Services Supervisor, guiding unit staff in financial activities such as:

Location and Flexibility
Enjoy the flexibility of our hybrid work environment, where you can balance working from home and collaborating in the office. It is anticipated that you’ll be expected at the DOH facility located in Tumwater for work activities between one (1) to five (5) days based on need.
Required Qualifications (you must meet ONE of the provided options and any additional criteria listed.):
Experience defined below may have been gained through paid or unpaid activities. Please ensure any relevant experience defined below is outlined in your cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile.
Option 1: Four (4) or more years of financial consulting experience in budgeting, accounting, or auditing, which should include financial management, reporting, fund reconciliation, budget oversight, revenue forecasting, or chart of accounts management. AND Four (4) or more years of experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, finance, or related financial field. accounting or finance experience, including experience interpreting and enforcing financial policy and procedures and state and federal laws and rules. AND Four (4) or more years of experience analyzing and interpreting financial reports in order to adjust entries, correct discrepancies, and prepare documents; audit transaction records and other fiscal records to ensure accuracy. (Can be gained concurrently)
Option 2: A Bachelor’ degree in Accounting, Business Administration or closely allied field; which includes the successful completion of 12 Quarter hours (or semester hour equivalent) college-level coursework in accounting, auditing, budgeting or finance; AND One (1) or more years of financial consulting experience in budgeting, accounting, or auditing, which should include financial management, reporting, fund reconciliation, budget oversight, revenue forecasting, or chart of accounts management.

- Assist staff in handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, travel reimbursements, and general accounting functions.
- Ensuring transactions are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable standards.
- Assist in fiscal year-end close and reporting activities.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely adjustments to clearing accounts.
- Interpret and apply SAAM, RCWs, WACs, and GAAP policies.

Experience Will Include All Of The Following
- A year (1) or more of experience providing training, support, feedback, and guidance to staff in the performance of financial or accounting functions and activities.
- Microsoft Excel – to develop and manipulate large or complex spreadsheets; use complex mathematical formulas to calculate data and link worksheets; import data from other sources, filter lists as well create and format charts formulas, pivot tables and graphs.
- Microsoft Word – to create, format, and edit tables, charts, and graphs; insert and format sections; create headers and footers; and work with pictures and draw objects.
- Two years’ experience with Washington State SAAM guidelines, RCW’s, WAC’s, and other state policies and procedures.
- State reporting systems: AFRS, Enterprise Reporting, or Web Intelligence
