The Child Study & Treatment Center (CSTC) has an opportunity for a Psychiatric Child Care Counselor 3 (supervisor) to join our team.
You’ll supervise a scheduling department consisting of two schedulers. As the supervisor you will provide staffing reports data to executive management and collaborate with other department leaders to establish an overall staffing and scheduling plan for CSTC. This position will ensure that staffing resources are consistent with the hospital’s long-term and short-term staffing needs utilizing established department staffing models.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Evening and Night shift work includes a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.
Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.
Some Of What You'll Do
Those with a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in social sciences, education, recreation, psychology, or a related field and three years of social service experience.
Or
Three years of work experience as a Psychiatric Child Care Counselor 1
Or
Two years of work experience as a Psychiatric Child Care Counselor 2
(An Agency Affiliated Counselor Credential through the Department of Health is required within 60 days of hire).

Some Of What You'll Do
- Overseeing and managing the process for scheduling direct care staff to ensure sufficient coverage for a 24-hour psychiatric hospital.
- Manage and ensure the smooth operation of the hospital’s electronic system for the scheduling department.
- Coach, mentor, train, and provide direct supervision of staff assigned to the scheduling department.
- Serves as the Scheduling supervisor and is responsible for troubleshooting and training other scheduling staff and shift leads on scheduling processes.
- Support and assist other hospital schedulers to ensure on-call counselors and nurse on-call staff are being appropriately utilized to cover shift assignments on all three shifts.
Those with a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in social sciences, education, recreation, psychology, or a related field and three years of social service experience.

Three years of work experience as a Psychiatric Child Care Counselor 1
Or
Two years of work experience as a Psychiatric Child Care Counselor 2

- One year of scheduling experience.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Visio.
