DSHS FFA MOD Truck Driver 1
This role supports the transportation needs at Western State Hospital (WSH) and will perform various trucking driving duties.
Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
The schedule for this position will be 10:00am-6:30pm Sunday through Thursday with Friday/Saturday off.

Some Of What You Will Do
- Loading and unloading.
- Packages, mail between postal facility, guard station and campus buildings.
- Commissary deliveries and transfers of goods to buildings on campus.
- Food items, equipment, supplies and materials.
- Performs pre/post trip inspections on all equipment operated.
- Cleans exterior and interior of vehicles to include vacuuming.
- Operates, and preps snow/Ice removal, and sand spreading equipment to ensure roads are safe and accessible.
- Responsible for paperwork, record keeping, and mileage logs.
- Minor vehicle/equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Housekeeping of shop area.
- High school graduation or possession of a GED certificate.
- A valid state driver's license is required.
- Six months to one year experience in working as a truck driver.
- Must have the ability to read, write and understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
