Some Of What You’ll Do
- Perform evaluations/assessments and treatment programs based on the needs identified by evaluations.
- Develop, monitor, and implement performance standards, policies, and procedures to ensure quality of services provided and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards pertaining to OT services.
- Assists in directing and coordinating occupational therapy program.
- Work closely with Therapy Team of professionals (OT, PT, ST, Rec, and Dietary).
- Provide consultation/evaluation for individuals using respite services.
- Report results to the interdisciplinary team and develop appropriate Individual Plans of Care (IPOC) for each individual.
- Assess the need for fabrication of and/or ordering adaptive equipment/mechanical supports such as splints, wheelchairs, tables and eating aids. Design and develop as needed. Assess and follow for maintenance.
- Train staff as needed in recommended eating modification, adaptive equipment, modifications to activities of daily living, physical positioning, or active and passive range of motion activities.
- Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team in the development and monitoring of IPOC.
- Consult with physicians, ARNPs, nurses, physical therapist, and others regarding occupational therapy program.
- May supervise and instruct occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapist trainees, and other staff in performance of therapeutic activities.
- Ensure procedures and standards are met for services provided in specialty, monitors quality assurance activities.
Professionals with:
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program AND successful completion of American Occupational Therapy Association certification examination;
- Three years of professional occupational therapy experience AND a State of Washington license as an Occupational Therapist or have a valid probational certificate issued by the State of Washington to practice Occupational Therapy.
- Equivalent education/ experience to include successful completion of American Occupational Therapy Association certification/ examination;
- In-training: This position may be filled at the in-training level of an Occupational Therapist 1. See Training Plan below:
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program AND Successful completion of American Occupational Therapy Association certification examination
- A State of Washington license as an Occupational Therapist or have a valid probational certificate issued by the State of Washington to practice Occupational Therapy.
- Equivalent education/experience to include successful completion of American Occupational Therapy Association certification/ examination
- Ability to train direct care staff in conduct activities of daily living programs.
- Ability to develop, observe and monitor individual dining programs.
- Ability to maintain records, data, and information in prescribed confidential manner.
- Ability to plan and develop effective teaching/habilitation/individualized strategies.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise reports, assessment, evaluation, programs and recommendations.
- Possess basic computer skills including use of email, word processing, excel and internet access.
- Ability to read and implement policies or rules/regulations of considerable complexity. Organize the work environment; prioritize work assignments to meet timelines and/ or priorities.
- Ability to identify abuse, neglect, mistreatment, exploitation and/ or abandonment, report per agency policies and procedures and fulfill requirements as a mandatory reporter.
