Responsibilities
This position manages, plans, leads, organizes, and directs all the activities of the Rates, Forms, and Provider Networks Division. To accomplish its mission, primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implement, manage and maintain the goals and objectives of the Commissioner as defined in the strategic and business plans.
- Proactively plan to address competing priorities and respond to changes that affect the agency’s strategic direction.
- Formulate and analyze proposed legislation related to the division.
- Represent the division within the agency and/or Commissioner with external interested parties/licensees as well as the executive and legislative branches. Coordinate activities of the division with other state and national entities, the public, and the Office of the Attorney General.
- Monitor and report to the Chief Deputy and Commissioner the performance of the division in achieving its mission.
- Ensure resources are obtained through the budget process to achieve division and OIC priorities. Assure appropriate and most effective use of the division’s resources. Appropriately manage the division’s budget.
- Support effective communication throughout the organization.
- Address competing priorities and respond to changes that affect the OIC’s strategic direction.
- Set regulatory policy for insurance producers and other licensees as well as enforce laws where the conduct of producers and other licensees violate the insurance code.
