Position Summary
The Clinical Genomics Laboratory (CGL) is a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, scientists, engineers, analysts, and staff serving diagnostic clinical medicine in the Division of Genomic & Molecular Pathology. This team works together to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of genomic services directly impacting patient care. We deliver on the promises of Genomic Medicine including several first to market NGS assays ranging from targeted, ultra-deep gene panels to Whole Genome Sequence (WGS) based tests for the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of oncological and rare disease. Additionally, the CGL is a world leader in the genetic diagnosis of disorders of somatic mosaicism, serving clinical partners in the US and internationally.
As part of the CGL Bioinformatics team, this position will sit at the intersection of cutting-edge technologies spanning Clinical Pathology, Molecular Oncology, Genetics, Genome Sequencing, Data Science, and Informatics. With input and support from senior staff and faculty, this position will be directly involved in our fast-paced, innovative team effort to validate and launch new NGS assays for our patients and clinician partners.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
- Implements : Algorithms and computer software for analyzing clinical genomics data sets; Project / Data management and analysis solutions that aid in the storage, investigation and dissemination of large data sets in a clinical environment.
- Participates in developing hypotheses and experimental design including validations of new clinical NGS assays.
- Evaluates commercial and academic bioinformatics software.
- Coordinates translational research projects with other investigators and institutions.
- Assists with reporting of methods, data and results for the lab's Quality Management Plan.

Salary Range
43,888.00 - $75,600.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
