The Program Manager of Koch Center for Family Business in the Olin Business School is responsible for driving the strategic plan set forth by Olin’s Koch Center Director. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, communicating, and directing all aspects of the program. This includes helping to promote the Program to potential partners and managing corporate relations. This person reports directly to the Center’s Associate Director.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinating Marketing and Communications Strategy
- Work with the Center Director and Olin marketing team to maintain program’s website, related marketing materials, and to develop and publish collateral for events and promotions; includes a monthly newsletter and the possibility of a downstream podcast.
- Establish and manage the program’s Linkedin and Twitter accounts, posting relevant content about the programs’ events and relevant 3rd party content.
- Develop new and creative ways to strengthen brand equity and visibility, as well as drive engagement and participation with the center.
Support Program Development
- Work closely with the Center Director to refine emergent program ideas.
- While these ideas will often come from the Director, the program manager’s insight around what is and is not feasible from an implementation standpoint is critical to ensure the right focus of work.
Facilitating Relationship Development and Management
- Manage all relationships with the program.
- Primary focus is with industry relationships such as those currently engaged with the program, a mix of Family Business, Family Office, and Family Philanthropy leaders.
- In addition, the Program manager will seek net-new relationships with those who might potentially find value with the program in the form of strategic outreach.
- Other key relationships include Olin’s Center for Experiential Learning, Olin’s Corporate Relations team, Olin’s Advancement Team, the Skandalaris Center, Olin’s Entrepreneurship Program, and the Bauer Leadership program.
- Key tasks include the scheduling of meetings, calls, lunches, etc., as well as managing the programs database through Olin’s Salesforce CRM system.
- Continually be on the lookout for Olin alumni (or regional leaders) who are involved in family business leadership roles that might make for natural partners.
Leading Event Management
- Manage all aspects (planning and execution) of the program’s physical, virtual, and hybrid events inclusive of contests, guest speakers, networking, mentoring, and key symposiums.
- Collaborate with the Center’s Director to develop event themes and topics.
- These responsibilities are inclusive of logistical components such as room reservation, parking, and food/beverage via Olin’s corporate partner, Flik.
- The program manager is expected to be in attendance at all events.
Supporting Financial Planning, Budgeting and Management
- Work with the center director’s and Olin’s budget and operations department to ensure budget alignment with strategic plan.
- Manage day-to-day fiscal activities for the program including record keeping, transaction and invoice processing and budget management which is reviewed in detail annually.
Supporting Center Board, Family Board, and Faculty Fellow Engagement
- Work with the Center Director and Olin’s Advancement team to ensure appropriate engagement with the two emerging boards of the enter – one which represents the family, and another which represents the external advisors to the center.
- Working to develop communication material for these quarterly engagements and an end of year stewardship report to ensure strong engagement of our key constituents and donors.
- This role also involves supporting the Research Director in coordinating the work of our Faculty Fellows, inside and outside of the university.

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
