What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis?
I'm actively looking for a postdoctoral research associate to join my lab at Wash U. We work on rare lysosomal storage disorders that affect the brain, but also the bowel, peripheral nervous system and muscles. We work to understand disease mechanisms and test preclinical therapies (enzyme replacement, gene therapy) in mouse and large animal models. Our work involves mouse behavior, pathology and quantitative histology, molecular and biochemical approaches. Drive, determination and interest are more important previous experience (although a PhD in a relevant subject is strongly preferred). The aim is for you to develop into an independent researcher who can drive studies forward successfully. We can provide a supportive mentoring environment to help you achieve this and become a valuable member of our team.
