What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Washington Vintners LLC?

The Financial Analyst will work directly with the Finance & Operations Manager and Business Leaders in support of The Corliss Wine & Hospitality Operations and its affiliated companies. The Financial Analyst is responsible for developing dashboard reporting and translating financial and operational data to support and inform decision-making across a diverse portfolio of operating businesses, including; wineries, agriculture, and hospitality businesses.

This individual will utilize their data visualization, financial analysis, and Excel modeling skills to be a key member supporting the creation and execution of business strategies. The ideal candidate is well versed in gathering business requirements, translating those requirements into technical documentation and can function highly independently.

SCHEDULE: Full-time in office, Monday through Friday; remote work not available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports reporting and analytical needs of Business Leadership and the Portfolio Management team.
  • Design, implement, and support key datasets that provide structured and timely access to actionable business information.
  • Responsible for translating financial and operational data into business dashboards and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (“KPI”) vs. budget and prior year.
  • Produce monthly KPI and quarterly portfolio-level performance reporting.
  • Produce weekly and monthly business activity reporting and projections based on financial results and analysis.
  • Consult, design, and manage analytical models for business decision-making across multiple businesses.
  • Improve financial performance by analyzing current and past financial results, monitoring variances, and identifying trends to improve financial performance.
  • Research and analyze pertinent market data to benchmark existing operations.
  • Develop financial models related to potential acquisitions and new lines of business.
  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of annual operating budgets.
  • Develop complex 5-year financial models to facilitate long-term planning for operations, capital expenditures, sales growth, and expense management.
  • Increase reporting efficiency by developing automated templates in Excel and Tableau.
  • Provide general analytic investment modeling support or other requests as assigned by manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration or related field.
  • 2 years of data analysis or financial analysis experience, including progressive responsibilities.
  • Experience with manufacturing or winery operations is a plus.
  • Proficient in general accounting principles, financial statements, and budgets.
  • High level of Excel proficiency and data visualization experience. Experience in Tableau preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills necessary to communicate and work effectively with management and co-workers.
