Position Information:
The Facility Technician installs, repairs, and reconditions electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems in County facilities; may provide some direction and training for maintenance support staff; and performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of journey level experience performing skilled HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical installation, maintenance, and repair work in a commercial, industrial, or institutional setting; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
License Or Certificate:
- A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification.
- Backflow testing Certification required within six months of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment.
- Licensing or certification as required by specific assignment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Must be willing to perform maintenance duties in varying environments such as the Nevada Cares Campus Safe Camp, Washoe County Detention Facility, the Medical Examiner’s Office, Animal Services, Human Services Agency, etc.
- Will have effective interpersonal skills with County staff, customers, and the general public.
- Will have excellent customer service skills.
- Will have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently.
- Will be self-motivated and responsive.
- Will demonstrate the ability to take ownership of problems to find solutions; share resources, information, and knowledge; and will encourage commitment to the County’s mission and organizational goals.
- Will be collaborative, hard-working and detail oriented.
