Job Title: Technical Director (TD)

Job Type: Part-Time

Salary Range: DOE

Roles and Responsibilities:

The WYSA Technical Director will serve as a member of the Leadership Team (LT) along with the Executive Director (ED) and the Director of Coaching (DOC). The Technical Director is responsible for providing both technical and administrative support for the club’s competitive and recreational programs, including in the following areas: coach development and education; player development and evaluations; tryouts; training sessions and design; team formations; clinics and camps. The WYSA Technical Director will act as a spokesperson for WYSA at external meetings with Alaska Youth Soccer and United Anchorage Youth Soccer League. The WYSA Technical Director will report directly to the WYSA Board.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and/or enhance appropriate player development model (PDM)
  • Ensure club is operating according to club philosophies
  • Provide coaches with training sessions inline with PDMs
  • Actively involved in overseeing and/or evaluating training session quality with DOC
  • Work with LT in developing, executing and evaluating all club programs
  • Work with LT to approve final player placements and team formations
  • Work with LT to set practice and coach schedules
  • Work with LT and coaches to set annual travel plans
  • Work with LT to recruit and hire quality coaches
  • Work with LT to set pay for new hires
  • Work with Financial Manager and LT to oversee club finances and manage budget
  • Mitigate and resolve issues as they arise within the club
  • Foster and manage relationships with other clubs across the state
  • Provide reports, including key metrics and resource needs to WYSA BOD upon request
  • Provide WYSA BOD with TD report at board meetings
  • Work with DOC to provide annual training to VR coaches
  • Develop and implement a player evaluation process that includes feedback to players and parents, and recommendations for individual development
  • Other duties as needed and/or assigned

Qualifications:

  • USSF C License minimum, USSF A or B License (or equivalent) preferred
  • USSF Grassroots Instructor License preferred
  • College playing experience required, semi-professional or professional playing experience preferred
  • At least 3 years experience in an administrative role within a youth soccer organization
  • 10 years coaching experience with all ages, genders, and abilities preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Quality leadership skills necessary
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage resources
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Can work effectively and cohesively with Leadership Team and other admin staff
  • Must clear a background check and be SafeSport certified

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
