What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Heavy Equipment Technician position at Waste Connections?
We are currently hiring a 2nd Shift Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Angleton, Texas.
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. As a heavy equipment technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of our fleet of diesel-powered vehicles.
- You will conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment, completing required paperwork using fleet maintenance software.
- Reviews and completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of diesel engine repair, knowledge of hydraulics, and experience with welding and fabrication. ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
