Job Description
Waste Connections is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at the Seabreeze Landfill site in Angleton, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services on a variety of heavy equipment.
About the Role:
- Tasked to order parts and build relationships with equipment vendors
- Performing inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
- Utilizing vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs
Responsibilities Include:
- Repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, including landfill compactors, dozers, excavators, motor graders, haul trucks, tippers, and site trucks
- Conducting safety checks on vehicles and equipment
- Completing required paperwork using fleet maintenance software programs
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Experience working on yellow iron/heavy equipment
- Able to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks
