About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician to join our team at Waste Connections, Inc. in Riverview, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance services on heavy equipment and vehicles, as well as ordering parts and building relationships with onsite office clerks and equipment vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services on heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Order parts and build relationships with onsite office clerks and equipment vendors.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment and complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software.
- Review and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and perform maintenance-related work as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience working on yellow iron/heavy equipment
- Ability to lift heavy objects (over 50 pounds) and work in physically demanding environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
