A "Day in the Life" of a Roll Off Driver:
- Safely operate roll-off trucks and equipment, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintaining the cleanliness of the cab interior and exterior.
- Complete all required documentation, including truck reports and route sheets, and report any vehicle mechanical issues immediately to both the mechanic and supervisor.
- Maintain route quality standards and exhibit professionalism in appearance and communication, especially when interacting with customers or the public.
- Identify and communicate potential hazards, follow all safety protocols, and wear required personal protective equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
- Accurately maintain service records, attend safety meetings, and be prepared to work overtime as needed, supporting continuous improvement and routing efficiency
- Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and at least one year of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate.
- Proficient in safely operating vehicles and necessary equipment, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and customers, along with the ability to complete reports and follow written instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills for route calculations and documentation, with a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability to changing demands.
- Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting 50 to 100 pounds, sitting for extended periods, and maintaining required visual acuity for vehicle operation.
- Regularly work in loud, varying weather conditions with exposure to mechanical parts, traffic, and precarious places, with safety protocols and protective equipment provided.
