Description
The accounts receivable specialist will assist in ensuring that the company receives payment for services offered to customers and clients. This position reports to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.
Examples of Duties
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers
- Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions
- Assists in the collections process of customers including drafting correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.
- Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested
- Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Office Manager
- Assists in reconciling revenue accounts each month
- Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Who You Are
- MUST have NETSUITE experience, or similar accounting software (Acumatica, Sage, Sap, JD Edwards etc.)
- MUST have 2 years A/R experience
- Relevant A/R industry experience, preferred (municipal waste industry, solid waste industries, trucking, transportation and services industries
- Working knowledge of office administration practices and the ability to use standard office equipment – including computer, scanner, copiers, fax machine, and phone system
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be highly detail-oriented and organized
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred.

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
