Job Responsibilities
The Credentialing Specialist, under the supervision of the Director of Quality & Compliance, is responsible for providing consistent, accurate, and timely credentialing of all Physicians, Mid-level Providers, and Facilities. This may include but is not limited to:
- Sets up and maintains an organizational system for the entire credentialing process, including a tracking system to assist other departments with needed information.
- Works to maintain and update certifications and CMEs for all providers.
- Gathers information from and maintains close contact with providers during initial credentialing process.
- Distributes renewed certifications, licenses, and registrations to all points in clinics as needed.
- Monitors and maintains new and existing providers’ credentials with all medical facilities and insurance companies.
- Submits application and renewal for all provider’s State and DEA licenses.
- Timely follow-up for all provider (to include physicians, mid-level providers, and nursing staff) licensures, renewals, facility appointments and reappointments as needed.
- Answers questions and concerns from providers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or corresponding level of experience.
- 2 years previous provider credentialing experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office or managed care setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and credentialing standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with healthcare providers and team members.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software related to credentialing processes.
- Discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
