What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Technician III position at Watauga?
Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field, two years experience in a network environment, supervisory training or experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. CompTIA Network , Security , or A certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electronics (principles and fundamentals), computers and related technologies
- Strong knowledge of components of local area networks and infrastructure requirements
- Understands software deployment systems for managing end-user devices and network devices
- Systematically troubleshoots standard electronics devices and networks
- Ability to maintain the operation and integrity of local area networks, file servers and workstations
- Ability to supervise technical support staff/act as lead technician at the district level
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of end users
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Responsibilities:
- Provides senior level assistance to the Level I and II technical support staff and maybe be asked to perform supervisory tasks, at times.
- Assists with the installation of local area networks, file servers, and other related peripherals under the supervision of the Director of Technology or Wide Area Network (WAN) Engineer.
- Assists with the maintenance of all local area networks by tracking significant problems, monitoring performance, and installing upgrades to hardware and software as approved by WAN Engineer or Director of Technology.
- Will be the primary support person for Windows imaging and software update deployment.
- Will be the primary support person for all Chrome/Android management and devices.
- Reviews and evaluates software applications.
- Will cross train as needed with WAN Engineer and be the secondary support person if the WAN Engineer is not available.
- Participates in long and short range technology planning.
- Attends classes and seminars to enhance knowledge of equipment and operating systems.
Twelve (12) month position. Full-time with full benefits.
