Gym Lead Teacher
Watch Me Shine – Bangor, ME
Salary Range : $45,760.00 - $54,687.44 annually

A Physical Education Teacher at Watch Me Shine specializes and has experience in education / early intervention and kinesiology. The PE Teacher will provide training, support, and ongoing guidance and supervision to paraprofessionals in their classrooms. Working in conjunction with the special education coordinators, the PE Teacher will oversee and ensure student progress, student programming, and support and the training of current and new paraprofessionals working in their classrooms. PE Teachers are expected to learn a variety of early intervention theories and methods, demonstrate mastery level skills working with children with special needs, and be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference in a child’s life.
Essential Functions of the Role :
- Classroom Management
- Organize your classroom and work areas to be attractive, organized and motivational for student learning
- Set up area / room before each group of children come in to the classroom
- Ensure your room is organized for therapeutic and educational purpose
- Ensure you have established and maintain consistent student rules and procedures
- Students help take responsibility for their learning (teachers & ed techs facilitate this)
- Teachers & Ed techs must take responsibility for their learning
- Ensure students are actively engaged in pursuit of knowledge and their assigned activities
- Ensure there is a persistent tone of mutual respect throughout the room. It starts with the staff. Must be program wide.
