About the Position
We are seeking a talented Quality Hardware Technician with experience in testing and troubleshooting electronic equipment. Quality Hardware Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and refurbishing equipment returned from customers and distributors to ensure operation in accordance with manufacturers specifications. In addition, Quality Hardware Technician responsible for performing Open Box Audit inspections of incoming shipments of finished goods inventory to ensure quality levels are met. The Quality Hardware Technician will be in constant communication with QA Hardware Manager, manufacturers and our engineers as needed to resolve issues as they arise.
\n- Rigorous testing of field returns using both company and manufacturing diagnostic software
- Refurbish, clean and pack units, ensuring a like-new condition, and return them back into stock rotation
- Review record, and close cases in Great Plains (GP) in a timely manner
- Provide analysis updates and/or requests to engineering team as needed
- Perform necessary reworks and update software to current version
- Perform incoming and outgoing of subassembly parts and finished good inventory
- Track and monitor ongoing reworks, ensuring everything returned to stock is as up to date as possible
- Log rework changes made for engineering to update in our in-house databases
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns to manager and/or engineers
- Regularly return failed units to manufacturers for deep rooted analysis and repair
- Help maintain and create new Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) as needed
- Perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations including set-up, calibration, analysis and troubleshooting of circuit, components and electronic assemblies
- Maintain used stock inventory, ensuring First In First Out (FIFO) on all products therein
- Perform inventory cycle count first of the year
- Assist the Shipping department with quarter-end
- Must have strong attention to detail, and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to anticipate work needs and prioritize with minimum direction, while being able to follow-up on own initiative
- Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as good working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Dynamics Great Plains) and database applications
- Individual must be team-oriented self-starter with good problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact positively and successfully within all levels of the company
- Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy and follow-through
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work onsite on weekdays with occasional overtime in evenings or weekends
- Ability to work well in a team
- Maintain a high-energy level and a strong sense of urgency
- A passion for troubleshooting and problem solving
- General understanding of basic TCP/IP networking and PC hardware architecture
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) level of education
- Manufacturing experience (i.e. assembly, quality assurance, tester, troubleshooting, etc.) is plus
- Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamic software is a plus
- Knowledge of Salesforce software is a plus
- Knowledge of Linux Operating System a plus
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00 per hour, exclusive of benefits. This position is also eligible for a bonus of 5% of the base salary. Your base salary compensation will be based on your individual skills, education, and experience. Please keep in mind that the above range is the full base salary range for this role; hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical in order to allow for future salary growth.
