The Inventory Control Supervisor oversees the daily activities of a group of Inventory Control Specialists. They assist management with the development of the team and supervise processes, meeting and exceeding team member and customer expectations.

The starting pay for this position is expected to be $36 to $40 per hour. Exact compensation is based on skills, experience, education, and location.
Inventory Control Supervisor Job Duties
- Takes ownership of customer standard operating procedure (SOP) and ensures execution.
- Monitors service failures through the Salesforce Incident Management tool and formulates or contributes corrective actions as applicable.
- Provides prompt and accurate information to the team to ensure all members are working to meet/exceed our customers' expectations.
- Supports, leads, and helps to influence positive change so that the Company's key objectives and business goals are met in an ever-changing marketplace.
- Ensures compliance with wage and hour laws including approval of team member time cards, time off scheduling, and assigning appropriate and timely breaks.
- Continuously monitors workload allocation and quality of work.
- Works with department manager to document observations on team member’s contributions, utilizing journals and impressions as applicable.
- Contributes to team members annual performance evaluations.
- Oversees the team’s safety practices, takes immediate control of accident/near miss situations, mitigating risk and collecting evidence.
- Conducts safety investigations and drafts incident reports for management overview.
- Maintains inventory accuracy by overseeing cycle counts, bin audits, audits processes and procedures, oversees daily cycle counts and physical inventories, maintains inventory records, and leads system improvement initiatives.
- Investigates inventory discrepancies, identifying root cause and formulates corrective actions.
- Supports quarterly and annual customer inventory audits and provides supporting documentation as requested.
- Analyzes receiving, inventory control, and shipping activities to find bottlenecks and other issues, drives continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implements process and procedures as requested by the department manager.
Requirements
- Proficient use of computer systems and applications including MS Office. Intermediate to advanced use of Excel required. Three years’ general use of SAP (MM/WM) required with cycle count experience preferred.
- Able to deliver quality results consistently and on schedule. Self-motivated and follows through on team initiatives with management support.
- Demonstrates outstanding customer service by proactively addressing customers’ expectations. Skillfully handles difficult customer service issues with patience and determines when to escalate them to management.
- Fosters relationships, resolves conflicts, and sets a positive example for others.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, utilizing verbal, written, active listening and influencing skills. Asks appropriate questions and provides constructive feedback.
- Incorporates a continuous improvement approach; adept at finding the root cause and drafting corrective solutions. Capable of exercising sound judgment.
- Uses excellent time management skills to implement identified priorities, manage resources effectively, and oversee team productivity.
- Experience with contributing to performance reviews, identifies opportunities for growth, and recognizes excellent performance.
- Leads by example, fostering positive team culture. Identifies situations that require managerial support and partners with leadership to deliver feedback.
- Experience overseeing the allocation of resources which meet budget expectations.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma plus a minimum of three years of supervisory or lead experience in logistics and/or transportation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Progressive work experience with leadership experience required.
Physical Requirements
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s essential functions require the following physical demands: carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, crouching, significant finger dexterity, and some climbing. Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 35 pounds. The job is performed in a warehouse setting with temperature variations and requires the use of safety shoes and high visibility clothing.
