*This position starts at $17/hour.
Under general supervision, perform paraprofessional instructional activities in the classroom and outside play area; assist in the conduct of intensified learning experiences for individual or small groups of students in assigned programs or grades/subjects; supervise students; perform supportive clerical tasks for students and school personnel; help maintain a positive, safe and developmentally appropriate class setting in accordance with all relevant laws, policies and procedures. This position may be assigned to a variety of school settings. Incumbents are expected to learn student supervision and instructional techniques for the specific area of school service to which assigned, such as special education, special needs, ELL, bilingual, general classroom, physical education and campus assignments. Duties encompass a wide range of supportive tasks for students and staff in the program to which assigned. Have a heart for ministry to children and implementing the core values of Water of Life Community Church.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED and one of the following:
- completed two years of study at an institution of higher education (45 semester units);
- obtained an associates (or higher) degree; or
- met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness)
- Minimum one (1) year paid experience working with children in a group setting preferred; may require experience with specific ages
- Knowledge of basic concepts of child growth and development; developmental behavior characteristics; student behavior management strategies and techniques; appropriate English usage, punctuation, spelling, and grammar; basic arithmetical concepts; routine record management, storage, and retrieval systems and procedures
- Ability to demonstrate understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups; communicate effectively in oral and written form in English and support English language learners, as required by the assignment; perform routine clerical tasks and operate a variety of educational and office related machines and equipment; learn to utilize a variety of appropriate instructional materials and procedures in the enhancement of a positive educational environment; understand and carry out oral and written directions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and adults
- Demonstrated passion for children and their care and development
- Satisfactory "Live scan" fingerprint and child abuse index clearance by the Department of Justice
- Current CPR and First Aid Training
- Current TB test with negative results
- Aspire to be a Christian role model in accordance with 1 Timothy, chapter 3
- Maintain a consistent relationship with God, demonstrate a strong and growing walk with Christ and live a Biblical lifestyle that honors Christ
- Be personally committed to the ideals, values and mission of WOL

- Ability to resolve issues according to Matthew 18
- Be/become a member at either Water of Life or a church with a similar Statement of Faith, and regularly attend its weekend services
Salary : $16 - $19
