WST Energy, a company of Italmatch Chemicals, has an opening for a Production Supervisor at our Miles City, MT location.
We seek a highly motivated, hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee our manufacturing/blending operations in a fast-paced environment. This role involves managing a small team (4 to 5) of production workers, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing efficiency while enforcing safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent problem-solving skills and an understanding of manufacturing processes. This role is well suited for someone who has been a Lead person and is ready for the next opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management
- Supervise, train, and mentor production workers, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to maintain efficiency and productivity.
Production Scheduling
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet deadlines and company objectives.
- Monitor workflow and adjust schedules as needed to optimize efficiency.
Quality Control
- Oversee production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Identify and address any quality issues to maintain product excellence.
Safety Compliance
- Implement and enforce workplace safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Inventory Management
- Monitor raw material and supply levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure a steady supply of materials.
Performance Evaluation
- Conduct employee performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching for improvement.
- Address performance issues and implement corrective measures as necessary.
Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure production machinery is properly maintained and operational.
- Report any equipment malfunctions and coordinate necessary repairs.
Problem Solving & Troubleshooting
- Identify production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes and operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret production plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Technical knowledge of production equipment and maintenance procedures.
· High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years of leadership experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related related field
