What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Chef position at Water Street Mission?
For Water Street Mission to fulfill its mission and purpose, it is critical for all staff to participate in the development and maintenance of a healthy Christian Community. Even as some positions have minimal direct contact with guests, each staff member has an essential role in forming and maintaining Christian community. Job Summary : Supervises the food preparation process for the mission. Trains and supervises all staff, guests and volunteers.
FLSA : Full-time, non-exempt
All Water Street Mission staff must be :
- Willing to sign the Water Street Ministries' Statement of Faith
- A current and active member and / or regular attendee of a local church.
- Able to fully support the Water Street Mission's core values and ministry philosophy.

Supervision (if appropriate)
Education and Experience : Professionally trained chef with at least 10 years of food services experience in a restaurant or institutional setting preferred. At least 5 years of supervisory experience mandatory. Evidence of past spiritual leadership preferred. High school diploma or GED mandatory. Servsafe certification preferred. This position will work some weekends and holidays.
Reports To : Food Services Manager
Key Internal Relationships : Department Directors & Supervisors
